Discovery Canada To Feature Mech Warfare
I was really happy to see that Mech Warfare is getting lots of attention from the mass media. In addition to all of the online coverage and articles, later this month Mech Warfare will be featured on the Discovery Canada "Daily Planet" show. It is also expected to be available online via the Discovery Canada website.
The amount of time, effort, and dedication that Andrew Alter and his team have poured into the movement is amazing to say the least. While others, myself included, were somewhat skeptical and cautious, even questioning if the new robot sport would get off the ground, Andrew and other supporters that shared his vision and enthusiasm never wavered and have made it a reality.

UK Gadget Show Visits Japan
The popular UK Gadget Show TV program was in Tokyo over the weekend for some hands-on time with our favorite humanoid robots. The geek and high tech gadget lovers program, hosted by Jason Bradbury and Polly Woodward, boasts a dedicated audience of around 1 million viewers.
This particular episode, the debut for the show's new season, is scheduled to hit the airwaves in the UK on April 23rd. I also have some behind the scenes videos that will be posted after the show airs.

Applying Robotics To Fashion Marketing
Sugiura Machine Design Office's innovative work applying robotics to fashion marketing via their Hina and Hina-Co animated and interactive display mannequins will be featured tomorrow (February 2, 2012) on the TV-Tokyo economic news program "MPlus 9".
The segment, scheduled for broadcast at 8:56 am, will include interviews with Tomio Sugiura, a leading Japanese designer of automated systems including state of the art wind turbines and other complex electromechanical devices. Sugiura is also well known as the creator of Dynamizer, the ROBO-ONE champion humanoid robot.
