Maker Faire Tokyo 2012 – Samurai Robot (Video)

Here's a robot video that I found interesting:

Almost all of the ROBO-ONE humanoid robot builders are attracted to the sport because of a particular robot that they were entranced with as children. Typically this includes robots like Gundam, Astro Boy (Atom in Japan), Majinga, and others. So, it's not surprising to find some of the builders equipping their robot designs with weapons that have their origins in traditional Japanese culture, including the samurai era. This particular builder, who has frequently participated ROBO-ONE type competitions, added a toy sword and custom motions to his humanoid design. He also was exhibiting the quad rolling robot featured in a previous video from Maker Fair Tokyo 2012.
