Ed Roberts Has Left The Building

via news.cnet.com

Ed Roberts, who we can honestly say changed our life and a whole generation of geeks just like us, passed away Thursday at the age of 68.

There has always been, and will always be, debate over whether or not Roberts created the PC and started the PC revolution. Frankly, the debate doesn't matter one way or the other.

What Roberts did by creating the Altair 8800 computer kit, and promoting it in the January 1975 issue of Popular Electronics, ripped apart the common perception of computing and freed it forever.

Thank you Ed. You will be missed, and you will be remembered.
