Hexapod robot controlled by the iPhone (Video)

Robert Stephenson, a.k.a. “blobbingtonsmithe” in the UK, has been working on a hexipod robot for a while, and documenting progress on YouTube. The latest video in the series shows off an iPhone app that was developed specifically to control this particular robot design and includes some sweet features.

Let’s take a look at the robot in action and how it interacts with the iPhone remote control. The video starts off a little slow and predictable, but be sure to keep watching and pay close attention a little over midway when you will see the precise and independent control this app has over each of the hexapod’s legs.

That’s actually kinda scary looking (because of the legs).
