Roomba not likely to have any impact in Japan

Roomba

Our local hyper-mart is finally carrying the Roomba line of floor cleaning robots. As much as we would really like to have one, the display was rather disappointing. It was stuck over in a corner in an aisle without any natural traffic flow. The demo models weren’t working, and the display was overly crowded with different bits and pieces. Pretty obvious that none of the staff was taking care of it.

The biggest disappointment were the prices, consistently more than double the US MSRP. There doesn’t seem to be a Roomba in our future, at least not at those crazy mark-ups.
