ROBOMEC 2010 planning in the works

The Robotics and Mechatronics Conference 2010 (ROBOMEC 2010), organized by the Japan Society of Mechanical Engineers, Department of Robotics and Mechatronics, is in the early planning stages. The conference, which has been held continuously since 1989, always includes detailed presentations on the latest theories, research, developments, and applied technologies. Participation includes the leading researchers, universities, and corporations, as well as thought leaders.

The theme for next years event is "Big Bang Frontier - Robotics and Mechatronics." It's lucky that the conference will be held in mid-summer, June 13th through June 16th, because the venue is the Asahikawa Taisetsu Arena located in Hokkaido, probably the coldest place in all of Japan during the winter. Quite a change from ROBOMEC 2009 which was held at the other end of Japan in Fukuoka.

The application deadline for papers is February 12, 2010. The registration fees and other details haven't been published yet, so keep checking the official website if you plan on participating.
