Robot designer comes closer to realizing his dream (Video)

We first met Hajime Sakamoto in 2005 at the spring ROBO-ONE competiton in Tokyo. He told us, very clearly and unquestionably, “Building GUNDAM is my dream.”
Now, four years later, Hajime Research Institute is developing, and selling, some very impressive, and highly functional, including one that is just over 2 meters tall and plays soccer.

Standing just over 2 meters, the robot towers over its creator, yet only weighs 20 kg. The weight was deliberately kept as low as possible to reduce the load on the servo motors and enable the robot to balance and walk more easily and naturally.
