Sounds like the Hacker’s Space idea is starting to take off! We have had one in KC, MO for about 6 months now. It is a great place to meet smart people with knowledge in many different areas. If there is one near you, you should check it out.
Hi. It’s Akiba from Tokyo Hackerspace. Thanks for posting the link, although there is no meeting for 2009/08/11 due to Obon. We have a bunch of people interested in robotics, especially (strangely enough) unmanned submersibles. We also have a project going on right now where we’re trying to map the interesting geek shops in Akihabara in English so that visitors can find the cool specialty stores.
