The average Japanese apartment is tiny, hence the Japanese love for all things small and compact. The American Roomba pictured above is huge: An appropriate size for American sized homes, but too bulky for a Japanese apartment. Maybe the newer smaller 13 inch models below it in the picture will fare better.
The Roomba 560 is way too bad to be used in a shoebox apartment. Even the dirtdog is huge. But then again in Japan everything seems to be more expensive anyway.
