Augmented Reality Pays Off First in the Game Market (Video)

When we got our first look at the ARToolKit our immediate thought was ‘What a cool technology for controlling robots.” It won’t be long before someone comes out with a killer app to use it with humanoid robots.

Obviously we were way off the mark. Yes, it would be great to apply the tool kit to robot control, but to really make money you need to focus on a mass market with a huge existing fan base, like 3D baseball cards!

  1. I’ve seen the Topps video last week. Gaming is an obvious first use. But why can’t robotic development continue in parallel? Once AR comes mainstream, anybody that waited is going to have to play catch up in development!
