12th KondoCup Robot Soccer: Cool Moves! (Video)
If any one still doubts the potential for humanoid robots to take on, and perhaps out-do, human players on the soccer field, they should take a close look at some of the really cool moves being executed on robot soccer fields. The video clip below, captured at the 12th KondoCup Robot Soccer competition, is just a tiny sample.
Keep in mind that these robots are designed, built, and piloted by hobbyists in their spare time and on fairly limited budgets. Most of the competitors work in technology related jobs during the day, but devote their evenings, weekends, and any other time they can squeeze in, to humanoid robotics.

It's good to know that the ROBO-ONE builders here haven't cornered the market on mega-sized humanoid robots. Mark Lampcov of RoboFactors captured some great shots of a huge robot created by the geniuses at Farrell Robotics" during the iHobby 2008 show last weekend.
By the way, the two robots on the right in the photo are RoboFactor's new state of the art HR-17 Shogun design that was unveiled at iHobby.
Halloween Cylon Jack-O-Lantern (Video)
Looks like we're not the only robot fans getting excited about celebrating Halloween. Our friends over at Make created an easy to make "SciFi Cylon Jack O' Lantern" video (below) that takes you step by step through the process. The results look really cool, and would be a welcome and scary addition to every robot lover's front porch come the evening of October 31st.
