Summer Festival with Robotic Floats

They're not quite what you would expect as robots. In fact, they look like giant birds, fish, and historical human characters. At the Sawara Gion Matsuri (summer festival) yesterday, we got the chance to experience close to a dozen huge, and extremely well executed floats, many with mechanisms that made them appear alive and very realistic.
Check out our Sawara Flickr photoset. We'll be posting some video clips momentarily.
