Pleo Robot Gets Down With Young Frankenstein (Video)

We're big Mel Brooks fans, and it's occurred to us more than once that if Brooks ever designed a robot it would end up looking, and behaving, a lot like Pleo. After finding the video below on YouTube, we're convinced we were right on target.



Pretty cool.

The intermittent flashes coming out of Pleo's nose are probably the video camera sensor picking up Pleo's IR sensors.

That is correct. The blinking is from the IR transmitter and is naturally invisible to the human eye. Just to the right of that is the receiver that is constantly looking for specific signals. Right now, Pleo uses the IR transceiver exclusively to communicate with other Pleos... socially.
