Ray on the RoboSavvy online robot discussion forums is a real Vstone RB1000 robot fan, and is always looking for ways to improve and enhance its performance. So, when Vstone released the new VS-RC003 controller he jumped at the chance to incorporate it into his RB1000.
At the same time he upgraded six of the leg servos to 17 kg-cm torque, and added a digital gyro board for stability. The results were really impressive, as you can see from the video clip below.
With the new controller Ray's robot is capable of what appears to be true master/slave behavior. The new Vstone board provides for dynamic mixing of up to four different variables to affect the gain on individual servo channels.
Ray also reports that the controllers application, Roboviemaker2, has been improved quite a bit and now features a flowchart like GUI similar to Kondo's Heart to Heart 3 application used for the KHR-2HV, KHR-1HV, and the Kyosho Manoi AT01 and PF01.
