Robot Soccer - A World of Difference
It may not be obvious to the casual observer, but there are some major differences between the way that robot soccer is played in the academic/research world with RoboCup and other competitions, and in the personal/hobby robot world with KondoCup events and the upcoming ROBO-ONE Soccer competition.
It's much more than just the ball size, or playing field, the differences, and the reasons behind them, are much, much deeper and even philosophical. We'll be touching on those differences in posts over the next week or two as we head out for RoboGames in San Francisco.
