JR Shows Off New Humanoid Robot Prototype
There are very few details available at this point, but late last week at the 46th Shizuoka Hobby Show 2007 here in Japan, JR was showing a prototype of their new humanoid robot named the "Sperior-BR7".
We do know that the kit will be light - approximately 1.07 kg, and stands 30 cm. tall. The robot features from 14 to 21 degrees of freedom using the RBS582 servos controlled by a LPC2148 cpu. The RBS582 is the successor for the RBS581 servo with the same general size, speed and torque but with a case and mounting that lends itself to custom robot designs.
Although the company hasn't released any firm release or production plans, there is a new website devoted to the robot kit.
