NHK To Broadcast Hobby Humanoid Robot News Segment In Japanese & English

According to their website, NHK, roughly the Japanese equivalent of the BBC in the UK or PBS in the US, is scheduled to air a news segment this weekend on their regular "What's On Japan" program exploring the recent hobby robot boom in Japan. The bilingual (Japanese/English) program is broadcast outside of Japan via NHK World TV, and in Japan via the NHK BS-1 satellite and cable channel (check your local listings).

The program will focus on understanding the appeal and charisma that is driving popularity of the 'hobby' among people from all walks of life, and all age groups from school students to seniors. NHK conducted a wide range of interviews including well known experts, novices, and even a few robots. If you manage to catch the program, we'd love to hear your feedback and observations.
