Great Quote
We were going through some quotes for our 'Favorite Quotes' mailing list, and happened to run across this great one by Marcel Proust (1871-1922):
"We don't receive wisdom; we must discover it for ourselves after a journey that no one can take for us or spare us."
Robotics is a perfect example. Just watching, or even putting together a kit or robot experiments that recreate someone else's design can be fun, but don't expect it to give you real wisdom. That only comes when you take the next step - when you start creating or hacking to make your own designs. That doesn't mean that you have to design a new robot from the ground up. You can learn a lot from just using a kit's parts to create a new and different robot creation, or improve on an existing design.
So, go ahead - take that first step...
