It's A Small, Small World

Mohit Bhoite is pursuing his bachelor's degree in Electronics and Telecommunications in Mumbai, India. At least that's where his physical residence on this planet happens to be at the current moment in time. But, like many robot fanatics, Mohit actually resides in Cyberspace on the internet. He was kind enough to introduce us to his robotic website (see link below) where we were delighted to find some really interesting and useful concepts.

Mohit seems to have a fairly wide range of interests including robots, ham radio, photography, and of course the internet.

And, within each category he has multiple interests. For example, he's already designed an built four different types of BEAM robots, and three microcontroller robots including two line followers and a micromouse robot.

He's also a whiz at documenting things. The write-ups and walk-throughs on the Mobots website include a wealth of detail, great photos, circuit diagrams, and even code segments.

He also seems to be very good at observation and analysis. During the design and construction of his most recent robot, a micromouse, he was trying to come up with some good wheel/tire material. It turned out that a great solution was right there in plain sight. Most of us would have missed it entirely, but some how he managed to see what we would normally overlook.

 Get the picture? Can you
 see what he saw?

He's also started to use SketchUp as a CAD tool to layout his new robot designs and ideas. Of course we've been SketchUp fans for quite a while and have written about it here on Robots Dreams, so it's always great to run across a kindred spirit that shares our enthusiasm for a great product and very useful tool - especially now that Google is making it available for FREE!

Mohit's website is extremely well designed
 and heavily documented with great
 diagrams and photos.
