When Elephants Fly: The Skiing Robot (Video link)

Image00890Remember the song from the movie Dumbo?
"I saw a peanut stand, heard a rubber band,
I saw a needle that winked its eye.
But I think I will have seen everything
When I see an elephant fly. "
Well, I saw something almost as amazing today - a skiing robot! For real! I'm not kidding.

We've had an unusual amount of snow in Japan this winter, especially since it's only January. Who knows what the next few months of winter will dump on us.

So, why not go skiing?

That's exactly what happened. The family that developed Dynamizer, the record winning Robo-One bipedal battle robot, decided to take the primo robot out and see how well it would handle the snow, and they captured everything on video (see link below).

How did Dynamizer do?

Pretty darn good. Of course, he fell down, sometimes flat on his face, spun out of control, and looked a little like the Jim Carrey character in the Dumb and Dumber movie. But, you know what? Very frankly, I have to admit that Dynamizer is a much better skier than I am.
