High School Students Design SWAT Robot For The Government (video)

SWAT robot designed by high school students
ABC news reports that the East Lake High School (Tarpon Springs, Florida) robotics team was challenged by an agency within the department of Homeland Security to design a functional robot with SWAT abilities.

The video news clip features interviews with the team coach and students talking about their goals for the project, and why it’s so interesting and exciting for them. One photo, included in the online article shows a large classroom with numerous CAD design computers in use –probably one per student. It’s very obvious that their high school has a major commitment to providing students with the best technology, and has dedicated a significant part of their budget to technical education.
