"Robby, the Robot has remained the most famous, and adored movie robot of all time. Robby was built in 1955 and made his film debut in 1956 in Forbidden Planet, Hollywood's first multi-million dollar science-fiction epic. In Forbidden Planet, Robby starred alongside Leslie Nielson, Walter Pidgeon and Anne Francis and cost the MGM prop-shop over $125,000 to construct."
