Spider Robot
Professor Arai's robotics lab at Osaka University has developed a six-legged robot that walks on the ceiling just like Spiderman.
The design goal was to develop a flexible robot that could be used during disasters to check tunnels and collapsed buildings. The camera equipped robot operates via wireless remote control and also has pre-programmed movement functionality. Public demonstrations of the robot in action are scheduled at Expo Aichi 2005 starting on June 9th.
