Robo-One 2005 – Part 2 – Control Strategies
One interesting aspect of the Robo-One 2005 competition was the wide range of control strategies that the competitors were using.
Left to right: PDA controller; modified R/C controller; Bluetooth from a cell phone; upper body harness (Waldo) so that the robot will follow the operator's movements.
Most of the approaches worked reasonably well, but one robot obviously had a hardware breakdown and just stood in the middle of the ring while the other robot politely beat the hell out of him.
